The VLCF Candidate Preparation program is designed to assist candidates in their planning for the Veterans’ Legal Career Fair. The Candidate Preparation Program has three main components which we hope will prove helpful in addition to that many wonderful resources geared toward veterans and military spouses looking for employment opportunities.
Candidate Resource Library – A collection of articles and resources that candidates may find helpful are linked in a “Resource Library” available to registered candidates through the VLCF Symplicity site. If you have suggestions on helpful resources or have published an article which you think may appeal to this audience, please feel free to send the document along with your contact information to email@example.com.
Mentor Matching Program for resume review & advice – Registered candidates will have an opportunity to be paired with a “mentor”, a practicing attorney in the private sector, for review of his/her resume in advance of the career fair. This free service is for registered participants and only available for a limited period of time prior to the event. A submission deadline will be announced at a later date. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Videos for VLCF Candidates – Nik Mathews and Steve Lessard, two Orrick attorneys with military backgrounds, have filmed a few short informational videos designed to help candidates participating in the VLCF. The videos are linked below along with a handout which summarizes the key messages.
